OLYMPIC LIFTING

The barbell club is run by Geoff Rainsford, a force to be reckoned with when wielding a barbell.

The program focuses on proper technique in all Olympic Style Lifts. Sessions include drills that are geared towards building strength and power. Throughout the session, the needs and level of each individual are addressed. This ensures their proper progression and safety.

 

Positional Strength

This is a disciplined focus to help members build their positional strength and loading through various movements, such as the Squat, Deadlift, and Overhead presses. Those which are addressed in this focus are as follows:

  • Front Squat
  • Overhead Squat
  • Strict Press
  • Push Press
  • Push Jerk

Olympic Style Lifts

A strong focus on proper position, speed, and progression loading for the two commonly use Olympic StyleLifts:

  • The Snatch
  • The Clean & Jerk

Our Olympic Style Weightlifting classes are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30pm.
